About Temple Beth El

We are a warm, caring community that fosters dynamic spiritual growth.

In a time when so many Jews are indifferent to and alienated from their heritage, it is imperative that the synagogue become the conveyor of meaningful Jewish identity. At Temple Beth El, spiritual exploration, religious experience, political action, and cultural expression all have a place of importance.

Temple Beth El welcomes all who seek to be a part of us, regardless of lifestyle, marital status, age, family configuration, or religion of origin. Bring an open mind, a willing heart, and together we will find our way as modern Jews.

In Hebrew, the synagogue is called by three names, each translated by function:

Beit Tefillah: House of Worship—a sacred space devoted to establishing personal relationships with God and prayer

Beit Midrash: House of Study—dedicated to being a center of Jewish learning where adults, children, families, and individuals of all ages and backgrounds engage in the life-long pursuit of Jewish knowledge and experience

Beit Knesset: House of Community—offering a deep, abiding feeling of community and belonging and an active engagement with tikkun olam, social justice

We believe in the value of intimacy and loving care to be found within our community.
