Topic: Big Basin: Past, Present, Future
We’re honored to have award-winning educator and emerita professor Traci Bliss, PhD., present the true story of Big Basin, California’s oldest state park. Her Santa Cruz ancestors were instrumental in saving Big Basin and in creating what’s now Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. The author of the well-received Big Basin Redwood Forest, Dr. Bliss will offer insights on Big Basin that promise to be interesting and even eye-opening.Beginning at 10 am we'll enjoy brunch (featuring tasty bagels, lox, schmears and all the fixins’), take care of a little Brotherhood business, followed by Dr. Bliss’s presentation at 11, concluding by noon. Recommended donation is $5 for Brotherhood members and $10 for non-members. Open to all of TBE and guests. We’ll wear masks in the TBE social hall for this brunch. Please come and enjoy!
