Protecting our Oceans Through Sustainable Seafood
Speaker: Tobias Aguirre, CEO of FishWise
     April 26, 10:00 AM

Almost half of the world's population depends on seafood as their primary source of protein. We humans consume over 112 million tons of fish annually. Due to this overwhelming demand, the delivery of seafood to markets often involves illicit sources, damage to ecosystems, and even human slavery. For nearly two decades, FishWise, a local nonprofit, has been addressing these critical issues through the development of sustainable practices. Please join us for our next brunch with Tobias Aguirre, CEO of FishWise. Tobias holds degrees from Stanford University and UC San Diego. He's been recognized by the Monterey Bay Aquarium as a Seafood Watch Hero. We will enjoy our always delicious lox and bagel brunch, do a bit of Brotherhood business, followed by Tobias's talk, and conclude before noon. Recommended donation is $5 for Brotherhood members and $7 for non-members.
