Plaques for Walls of Remembrance

The Wall of Remembrance, located at Home of Peace Cemetery, is the only public Holocaust Memorial between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It will be completed and dedicated on September 7 at 2:30pm.

Individual bronze plaques that honor and commemorate those who perished in the Holocaust and survivors who are now deceased will be placed on the interior wall of the memorial where there will be a bench and a place to meditate or pray.

The outside wall offers a place for Temple Beth El (TBE) congregants and family to memorialize loved ones who are not buried at Home of Peace.

It is intended that this memorial built to honor the more than six millions Jews killed in the Holocaust and the survivors who have since died will be used as a teaching tool to bring greater awareness about our history, injustice and tolerance.

Due to the limited number of available plaques, anyone who has been a TBE congregant for five consecutive years may purchase a plaque for:
  • Holocaust victims
  • Holocaust survivors who are now deceased
  • A loved one not buried at Home of Peace (on the non-Holocaust side of the wall)
Anyone may purchase a plaque to memorialize a past TBE congregant who was a Holocaust survivor and has died.

A waiting list will be created for anyone wishing to purchase a plaque, but who does not meet the criteria to purchase at the time.

Individual bronze plaques are 8 inches by 3 inches. Each line will have a maximum of 35 characters including spaces with a maximum of three lines.

We envision that the installations of individual plaques will take place twice a year around the Holocaust memorial remembrance and before Yom Kippur.
