A Jewish Spiritual Home/Beit T'Filah
Temple Beth El is a Jewish spiritual center for ritual and prayer. We find enduring meaning and compelling relevance in Jewish tradition in ways that enrich our lives. Our prayer services blend the beauty of tradition with creative new spiritual expression that touches our souls and enables our members to find purpose, meaning, inspiration and comfort. We also foster spiritual growth through classes and the personal spiritual guidance of our knowledgeable and approachable rabbis.
Usually Friday Evenings at 7:30 PM. Everyone is invited to our Friday night services, which take various forms including the partly mystical, always musical and somewhat magical Rock Shabbat, warm and friendly English enriched services and engaging family-friendly services. Please check our calendar.
Temple Beth El does not usually hold Saturday morning services except when we celebrate a Beit Mitzvah. On other Saturdays, we invite our members to attend Shabbat morning services at Chadeish Yameinu, a Jewish Renewal congregation on the Westside of Santa Cruz, which meets every Saturday at 10am.
This intimate service blends traditional prayers with contemporary English interpretations and includes a discussion of the week’s Torah portion. You will experience the warm and welcoming spirit of their community.
Everyone is also welcome to attend our Beit Mitzvah services. Please check our calendar for upcoming dates.
Our acclaimed volunteer adult choir enhances High Holidays and several Friday night services throughout the year. Their uplifting music deeply enriches the worship services each time they sing.
Temple Beth El celebrates holidays and festivals, often in very creative and contemporary ways, striking a balance between tradition and innovation. Women may find our Temple’s unique, warm and bonding monthly celebration of the new moon (Rosh Chodesh) a wonderful addition to your spiritual life. We think that you will be inspired by our holiday celebrations.
Our High Holiday services bring the richness and meaning of the Days of Awe. Children and young families enjoy wonderful services and programs together.
