Concrete Practices for Social Change in the Workplace:

A Free Online Workshop for Our TBE Community

This is a free workshop.

This webinar is for TBE members who

Care about social justice in the workplace.

Seek to learn about the gaps in their social justice implementation at work.

Crave tools and practices to take action and do something about the injustices that are reflected in our places of employment.

What we’ll do:

Help participants foster a heart-centered approach to understanding the gaps between an organization's values and the lived experience of working at that organization.

Empower participants to see their potential for positive impact within their organization, both in terms of “DEI” work and finding fulfilling community organizing outside of the workplace.

Equip participants with practical actions they can take towards making changes at work.

Connect participants to resources at Temple Beth El and to consulting services that can support themrstanding the gaps in their social justice knowledge

About the facilitators:

Erin-Kate Escobar (M.Ed)  and Natania Malin Gazek (MBA)  first met when they were B-Mitzvah classmates at Temple Beth El Hebrew School in the 90’s! They reconnected in 2020 as adults when their mothers (dedicated TBE members Amy Katzenstein and Shani Ginsburg) informed them that the other had ALSO started their own consulting practice supporting organizations with diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility practices and policies. Today, they’re delighted to be solopreneur colleagues who often partner on client engagements. Here’s a bit more about each of them:

Erin-Kate Escobar (they/them) works to build more inclusive workplaces where people can thrive through developing and implementing strategies that include healing and anti-racist practices. Erin-Kate has previously developed DEI initiatives for NASA and Nobel prize-winning science projects. These days, you can often find them partnering with small businesses, museums, schools, and nonprofits to create more inclusive and equitable team environments. They believe that supporting people and organizations can be done through practical practices for navigating structural and interpersonal oppression. Erin-Kate’s work is informed by BA in Politics, Judaism and Social Justice from The University of San Francisco and a Master’s degree in Human Development and Education from the University of Vermont, along with training in intergroup dialogue, and somatic embodiment. They live in Los Angeles, CA and focus their time outside of work on making art, and being in nature.

Natania Malin Gazek (she/her & they/them) runs a values-aligned people strategy consulting practice, helping organizations make every part of their employee lifecycles more effective, efficient, and aligned with their values, so they’re best positioned to achieve their missions. With clients ranging from 200+ person corporations and government agencies, to 50 person non-profit organizations, to two-person tech startups, her work is driven by the belief that when we create equitable systems that stick, they generate ripple effects of justice. Natania’s work is informed by a BA in Sociology from Vassar College and an MBA in Organizational Behavior from the Yale School of Management. A Brooklyn, NY resident, Natania spends their free time enjoying their local park, singing and doing justice work with queer Jewish community, and developing detailed reviews of Trader Joe’s gummy candies.
