Dedication for Holocaust Memorial

On Sunday, September 7 at 2:30 at Home of Peace Cemetery, 422 Meder Street, the more than six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust and those survivors who are buried in our cemetery will be honored at the dedication of The Wall of Remembrance, the only large scale Holocaust Memorial between San Francisco and Los Angeles .
At this divisive time in the world we will join together as a community at this sacred space to bring greater awareness about our history, injustice and tolerance.
There will be short presentations by:
- George Fogelson, author of two books on the history of Jewish Life in Santa Cruz
- Temple Beth El's Rabbi Shifra Weiss-Penzias whose family was in the Holocaust
- Rabbi Paula Marcus, Senior Rabbi
- Rabbi Emeritus Richard M. Litvak
- Peter Hanson, Artist and stone mason
- Terry Spodick, Project manager and cemetery committee member
