Introduction to Kabbalah, Part 2 with Peter Cardilla

This class is the second part of an introduction to Jewish mysticism. It explores its origins and development and its influence on religious and secular thinking. There will be a discussion of the content and symbolism of Kabbalistic writing, with emphasis on Kabbalah’s central work, The Zohar,and its parts. Students are encouraged to purchase a copy of the book Kabbalah: A Very Brief Introduction by Joseph Dan. Students who have taken Part 1 of this class are encouraged to return, and new students are welcome. The fee for this class is $50.
