Introduction to Kabbalah

Description: An introduction to the subject of Kabbalah, its origins and development, its influence on religious and secular thinking, and a brief history and discussion of the content and symbolism of Kabbalistic writing, with emphasis on Kabbalah's central work, The Zohar, and its parts. Students are encouraged to purchase a copy of the book which we will be using- Kabbalah: A Very Brief Introduction by Joseph Dan.

Peter Cardilla is a resident of Capitola and a professional software engineer. As an avid student of the Bible and religious mysticism and symbolism, he has studied The Zohar since 2007. His studies also include the Kabbalistic writings Sefer Yetzirah and The Bahir, the scholarly writing of Gershom Sholem, Isaiah Tishby, and Joseph Dan, and the Western mystical traditions of Christianity, Gnosticism, and Hermeticism.
