Shabbat Shuvah Service and Poetry Workshop
The Labyrinths of Our Lives: Teshuvah and Coming Home with Rabbi Pam Wax

Shabbat Shuvah is a special Shabbat between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur when we focus on the ongoing journey of teshuvah, return and repair.

Please join us for an outdoor service at 10:00, followed by a Potluck Kiddush.  After lunch, at 1:00 pm, we are very excited to be learning with Rabbi Pam Wax.

  • 10 am Shabbat Morning Service
Rabbi Pam Wax will offer the Shabbat Shuva sermon entitled "The Labyrinths of Our Lives: Teshuvah and Coming Home."
  • 1 pm "Approaching the Holy of Holies: Poetry for the Journey"
Rabbi Pam Wax will lead us through a discussion of contemporary poems to immerse us more deeply into the themes of the Days of Awe and open our hearts for Yom Kippur. Bonus: You will leave with a greater appreciation for poetry and some poetry prompts!
Rabbi Pamela Wax is the author of Walking the Labyrinth (Main Street Rag Publishing, 2022), a book of poetry exploring her journey through grief following her brother’s death by suicide. Pam’s award-winning poetry has been published in many international journals, both online and in print. Her second book of poetry, Starter Mothers, will be published in 2023 by Finishing Line Press. After 19 years as staff rabbi at Westchester Jewish Community Services in New York offering pastoral counseling and running a Jewish spiritual healing center, Rabbi Wax now serves as the interim director of adult programming at Congregation Knesset Israel in Pittsfield, MA.
