Update on Ethnic Studies Curriculum in Our County
and the White House Strategy to Counter Antisemitism
Panelists Doug Kaplan, Gil Stein, and Roz Shorenstein will lead a discussion on new developments regarding Ethnic Studies in local public schools in the light of the White House Strategy to Counter Antisemitism, which directs state and local schools to include Jewish history. One example of available new curricula highlights the history of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews. Refreshments will be served.
The Jewish Community Education Group is a Temple Beth El Committee whose mission is:

To support the well-being, security, history, and culture of the Jewish people and Israel through understanding and counteracting all forms of antisemitism

To sponsor educational programs, interact with area Jewish organizations (such as Hillel and other synagogues) and provide links to resources offered by other groups sharing this vision

To publicize opportunities for advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels
